WHALE WATCHING FROM REYKJAVÍK
Take part in an adventure at sea with an unforgettable trip into the world of whales and sea birds that brings you up close to whales in their natural habitat.
We leave from the old
harbor of
Reykjavik and head out to sea, normally no further than 15 nautical miles from the harbor. During this boat tour you may see various species of whales, dolphins, seabirds and seals. The most common sightings are Minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises, the popular humpback whales and killer whales (orcas). There is also a possibility that majestic fin and sei whales will also be seen on the tour. An expert guide will tell you all about your trip and describe what you can see and where to look, together with an introduction and safety guide. On board the boat are coffee facilities and restrooms as well as large windows to look out of for those who choose to stay inside.
We recommend that you wear your warmest clothes however; there are also special thermal suits onboard that you can borrow.
The duration of the cruise is from 2.5 - 3 hours
PLEASE NOTE: This tour is weather dependant and sightings are not guaranteed. The biggest factor in our tours is the wind, so when the wind is slow we can go on a whale watching tour.
