Oslo is not an expensive city, except for alcohol.
However, to limit your costs, we recommend the following:
1. Register before May 1st to get the early bird rate!
2. Join your national society to take advantage of the EFMI discount.
3. Reserve airline tickets as soon as possible – last minute discounts are rare. Widen your search – as there are three airports in the Oslo area (Gardemoen, Rygge, Torp). You will find the lowest rates at Ryanair, Norwegian Air Shuttle and similar airlines – flights from 7 one way still available. Our official carrier Star alliance can offer good rates, good service – and a MIE2011 discount.
4. For budget accommodation – Internet is your friend. There are still double rooms available for 36€/person/night. The official hotels are discounted and guaranteed – you will not get a better rate directly from the hotel. Book now – Oslo is quite busy in August.
5. Remember that the conference fee covers lunch, receptions, and transportation to the hospital visit.
